June - Rooftop sunbathing, Noodle Tour, Pohang, Busan and Re-signing my contract! (Month 10)

Week 1

Friday night we went to see 'The Great Gatsby' and my love for Leonardo was rekindled <3 <3

Saturday we went to Grace's to do some rooftop drinking and sunbathing. We were joined by a Korean man who lived in Grace's apartment and he brought us food and joined in with our drinking games. We had planned on going downtown - however after making our way through wine, soju and my 'special' rum punch - let's just say - it wasn't going to happen.

We went to a BBQ in Chilgok - then we were given free drinks vouchers for a bar / club that we hadn't seen before - we made our way up and went inside. It turns out that we had picked the wrong bar - but they give us the free drinks anyway.

Britney, Justin Bieber and LMFAO happened. We threw some amazing dance moves on the dance floor. We managed to get the Koreans (who had all been sat down) dancing.

My main memory of walking home is singing 'This little light of mine' with Nina and Paudi due to Grace being scared that the taxi driver was going to kill her because that's the tune he was humming!

Week 2 - Tokyo (See Tokyo Post)

Week 3

This week was mainly me recovering from Tokyo.

I picked up an extra shift working at the Global Fair at the DMOE so I had a productive Saturday morning.

Saturday evening we decided to do something different and go to the comedy night at Sugar Joes.
The night time was not sooooo productive. Basically I had been thinking a lot about the fact that I wouldn't be going home for another year - I think that it only really hit me this week - and the implications of that. No sinners?! No Tokyo(The bar, not the city)?! Not seeing my swiss kids, my Newcastle friends and just yeah......! Butttt instead of thinking about it logically - I mixed wine with soju - and meh.

But we had a Sunday Funday planned - so there was no time to be hungover.
We had signed up for a NOODLE TOUR - without realllllly know what it was (we had obviously guessed that it would have something to do with noodles....

Butttt we got to do loadsss of things!!We started off by going to eat some noodles.

We then visited a temple / shrine.

We then went to 'The Arc" - which I have wanted to go to for a while - but haven't got around to it!

We also then found an outside swimming pool near the Exco that you can pay to use.

So I am super glad that I dragged my hungover embarrassing mess of a self out of bed and went on the trip!!

Week 4

Friday was the day that I had been marking down anxiously on my calendar. I was due to hear news about whether my transfer accept had been accepted or denied on the Friday.I had been up all night worrying about the result.
However - no email arrived.
I felt no love from the DMOE
On Friday we headed to Winnie's place and watched The Sixth Sense (which was a lot more emotional than I remembered) and Click.

On the Saturday, Grace and I went to Pohang. We wanted to check out the claw and a lighthouse.
So we did.

We also went on a horse and carriage ride - complete with fake horse noises and became best friends with a taxi driver.

We then headed back to Daegu and watched The Purge at my house. Which had such potential to be a good film - but it just ended up sucking soooo bad!

On Sunday - I ate the last of my chicken / crab salad that had been in my fridge for a few days - then went for a run. I came back from the run - and thought I was going to die. I started shaking and feeling really hot then really cold. Not cool. I drank a lot of water. Then had to rush to the bathroom to spend the next 2 hours throwing up the salad. Nice.
So much for trying to be healthy. I think I'll stick to pizza in the future!

Week 5

After still not hearing any news on whether our transfer request had been successful or not - we decided to call the DMOE - where we were then told that it had not being successful. In all honesty I was a little bit angry with the way it had all been organised.
Buttttt I have now signed for my second year - I like my school and I am moving apartment - so I have the best of both worlds (minus having to wake up earlier for school)

We went to see Jurassic Park - re released in 3d - which I was ridiculously excited about and I enjoyed it - a lottttt.

Then on the weekend we went on a trip to Busan. It was a lot of peoples last time in Busan as they will be leaving us very soon - which makes me verrrrrry sad :(

But we made some good memories- ate some amazing Thai Food, hired some rubber rings (I decided to go in my dress as I had left my bikini at home) and had some drinks. Unfortunately we heard that the uni area (which I love) was pretty dead due to the students being away - so we drank around Haeundae - which was still cool. Howeverrrrr mixing alcohol with my pain meds for my shoulder did not go to well. I am still confused as to how I successfully got back to my room. But I did, so it's all good. I was able to eat a cooked breakfast in the morning - so all was good with the world again.

What's coming up next month?

  • Apartment Hunting
  • School Trip
  • Scavenger Hunt
  • Seoul Weekend
  • Mudfest
  • Summer Camp at school
