September - Drowning at Korea Burn, Typhoon in Taiwan and Bungee Jumping!

I'm now all moved in to my new house and I'm loving it!
The commute to work (30 mins) is not killing me as much as I thought it would and I am now so much closer to downtown and my friends!

It also feels a lot more like a real house.....oh and it has a roof that I can sunbathe on....

 Korea Burn

We were all excited about spending a weekend at the beach for Korea Burn! I had the BEST time there the last year and this year we were much more prepared....so everything was going to go perfectly.....

I rushed home from school  to prepare my food.... spinach ravioli, guacamole, bread, peanut butter and chicken salad (better than last years choco pie diet) and headed on my way!

I set up my super cool iron man tent and decided to go to bed to make sure I was all ready to party out the next day (I had been out the night before on a teachers dinner and was pretty hungover #GettingOld)

But then.... the rain started.
Now this was no normal rain. This was thunderstorm, heavy pelting, crazy rain.

IronMan was not up to the job. But neither were peoples more expensive tents.

I managed to stay in my own tent until 1.30am. Then after I could take no more (there was an actual layer of water in my tent - EVERYTHING was wet - and the lightening was pretty scary haha) I shouted for Laura to join me in finding somewhere else to sleep (she had a similar tent to myself so I knew she was in the same position). We found a marquee to sleep under - but with wet clothes and sleeping bags - we didn't sleep at all - but it was nice to not be getting wetter.

At 7am - we went to find the rest of our chingus and sort out a plan. Luckily my guacamole was not ruined - so I shared it around (glad I was able to do some Burning Man sharing!) . We then decided that we couldn't stay there any longer....as excited as we were about Burning man - we were just uncomfortably wet with no dry clothes to change in to....so we got the bus home!!
Every cloud has a silver lining..... and missing Korea Burn meant that I was able to spend a night with Linh and Emily before they headed back to America!!! <3 <3 Flip cup, singing happy birthday to a dog, going to club and norebanging til 6am followed by sleeping in a warm dry bed made me very happy with my decision!!
Going to miss these two a LOT

 Taiwan

It was Cheusok time again and this year I headed to Taiwan <3

The rain decided to follow us there with a tyhoon......

but we weren't going to let a little bit of rain stop us from having fun.....

We went to Taipei 101.

We lots of dumplings. (I also found and ate some swiss chocolate....but I ate that farrr too quickly to take a picture)

We went to a toilet / poo themed restaurant...the seats we sat on were toilets, as were the bowls we ate from, we washed our hands in a toilet....but the actual toilet.....was a squatter. Good one!

We went to Hulian to attempt to go to the Gorge. This was unsuccessful - however we did play drinking card games in the hostel ....
Playing cards on the floor of the train...  we were happy to be on a train and not stuck in the countryside when we wanted a Saturday night in Taipei. For the first hour the train didn't move and we were just cramped on the floor with no aircon... but I won around 8 games of Gin Rummy in a row...so it's all good!

Glass floored Gondolas.

A prohibition themed bar - it was set up like a coffee shop - you then had to find a secret button to then be allowed in. They then led you downstairs and designed you a cocktail based on your tastes. I WAS IN HEAVEN. Oh and I also ate a burger........ WITH PEANUT BUTTER AND BANANA ON IT! This place was pretty much designed for me!.
Nice dark rum and peanut butter burgers?!?!

We then met some of our other friends in Woo Bar - this had a really cool balcony / swimming pool area with a view of Taipei 101 - howeverrrrr the rain closed that section off. Grrr. There was however a MUCHHHH larger selection of alcohol and rum than I am used to in Daegu. So I was happy happy happy.

Thennnnn on to a club - somehow myself and Dan ended up sitting opposite 10 shots on the bar which no one seemed to be drinking. We then maybe changed that little dilemma .

The next day, I could NOT get out of bed for checkout at 11. Neither could Paudi and Nina - so we stayed there for one...or two...or three hours longer. I ate some Mexican food in the place opposite the hostel. This was the best Mexican I had eaten in Asia - I'm not sure if that's because of how badly I needed the food - or how good the food was!

We then had to make our way home - our plane arrived into Seoul at 1035. There were then no buses from the airport to Daegu - so we had to make the mission of taking the aiport railroad, then a taxi to the Express Bus Terminal. We finally made it to Daegu at 4.30am. I decided that having no hours sleep was better than 2 hours sleep. So let's just say that I was pretty sleepy on Monday at school......annnnd the rest of the week!!

The typhoon hit some of our friends harder than us..... we just had to miss a trip.... some people were stranded in another country for a few days.... seriously weather....stop trying to mess with us.

Before going to Taiwan I had thought about choosing it as my next country to live in..... and even though we only spent a few days there - I really enjoyed the vibe. People queued in an orderly fashion..... the food and drinks were AMAZINGGGG. So yeah.... probably see you next year Taiwan!!

I get all excited about hearing the song..... Paudi and Dan look at me with blank faces...but luckily I have Nina.... what does the foxxx sayyyy?!

People queue....and the play the fox song on the street....how could I NOT want to live there?!?!

Bungee Jumping

Remember that time last year when I missed Bungee Jumping and had to eat sucky ramen and hated myself. Welllll it was time to attempt it one moreee timeeee! The best things come to those who wait.....righhht.

The night before I had my coteachers over to my house to thank them for helping me move house - we ate pizza, drank wine and played some drinking games.

I got to the bus on time and headed to Inje to do the biggest tower Bungee jump in Korea (63m). By the time I was at the top - I started to feel very scared.....but after some relaxation techniques (that I invented at the top) and a little bit of swearing.....I jumped....and woooo it felt good!!
Me at the top of the jump....

We had a pretty chill evening, we watched The Sound of Music and then played some drinking games! I finally made the Bungee jumping trip which I had been wanting to do since last year. I can now leave Korea happy haha...... then the next stop the 007 jump in Switzerland....maybe....
