August - Hellos, Goodbyes and a new school year!

The Hellos

Sam and Penny came from England to visit me whilst I was on vacation. See my long long post about that further down :)

A friend from Switzerland also came up to Seoul for two weeks on a university trip - so I popped up to Seoul to say hello!

The Goodbyes

This was a very emotional month with a lot of different goodbye parties. The Epik Fall 2013 group had all reached the end of their one year contract - and unfortunately (for me) not every one was staying for a second year! :(

We had a big going away dinner at Hotel Ariaiana. All you can eat and all you can drink. Yeah. I made the most of the free wine and had a dramatic ending to the night with Gracie!

We had a school dinner on the Thursday where we said goodby to Matt - the other native teacher in my school.

On the Friday we went to Sugar Joes and said our goodbyes....again.

Sunday was a farewell meal in Maya. (This month has made me so fat.)

By this point there was then only Meabh and Michelle left out of the people leaving. They both stayed at my new house - the air con was not working (it is now fixed) so it was like staying in a jimjilbang!
I loved having people in my house again and it felt like I was back at university - and I was just squeezing as much time with them as I could before they both left!

We had an amazing Friday night with Norebang, cocktails in a bag - and deciding to pretend to people that we met that it was our first night ever in Daegu..... let's just say this ended with me eating two kebabs in Star Kebab.

We had a list of things that Meabh and Michellle wanted to do/ see/ eat before they went home. So Saturday involved doing as much of those as we could and then heading downtown for the ACTUAL final night!

New School year

So I have now officially been in Korea for year. As sad as I was to say goodbye to a lot of my friends - I am also very excited about the upcoming year. I feel like I still have a lot of things that I want to do in Korea, I now live in a new house and area (which I LOVE) so I have a very good feeling about things to come!

I get to stay with these chingus. Life won't be that bad! :)
