Illness, School Festival and trying new bars....Week 11

Well this has been a pretty quiet week, what with me being all ill!

It started last Friday night when I started losing my voice, by Monday morning I was speaking like a teenage boy going through puberty.

Chocolate counts as medicine too....right?
My class found this pretty funny, and decided to imitate my voice.....at least they were speaking!!

I got really confused when the teachers started bringing fans into our office (it was sooo cold) - but it turns out that they were heater fans......Mind. Blown.

A hot fan....who knew
As it was Halloween on Wednesday, I got to make a Halloween themed game for my 5th Graders.....haha of course I choose one with screamers - so as they were answering questions a monster of some sort would occasionally pop up with a big scream....they were scared....but loved it!

They loved seeing pictures of me and my friends in our costumes. However I feel that I might have bigged Halloween up...and they think everyone is obsessed by it......I did go to two different Halloween parties and did themed lessons all week......haha oh well!!

On actually Halloween day it was our School's festival where the kids got to go round and try out different stalls. We had a 'pumpkin magnet' tent - there was face painting, candy floss and drunk goggles and it was a fun afternoon (minus me feeling like death).

Kid wearing the 'drunk glasses' - see video above hahaha!

Mmmmm Candy Flossss

I brought sweets to school and gave them to any kids that said 'Trick or Treat' to me....some kids were super cute and actually brought me sweets and said 'Happy Halloween'.

My school

There's a small group of kids who always hang out in the English Zone....and I caught them pretending to be teachers on Friday - this is a much played down version that they let me film.....when they didn't know I was watching they were a lot more dramatic.....copying everything that we as the teachers do haha.

I convinced myself that I was going to get better by Friday so that I could go out.....I never normally feel ill for longer than a week (not ill enough not to go out, anyway!!) - I have been stocking up on tablets all week - but Friday afternoon hits and I realise there is no way I'm going out.

I fell asleep straight after lunch - for a good couple of hours (normally my school naps are rare and small - I still feel a bit weird napping at work - but there was no stopping it on Friday)

So instead of the Friday Girls night out - I stayed in - watched love actually, my sister's keeper and slept.....crazzzzy.

I woke up feeling soooo much better on Saturday morning.....apart from being super jealous about the extrememly good night that the girls had on Friday night.

We went for a 'hangover' curry - samosas, tika masala and naan bread.....perfeccct!

Then we went downtown and decided to try some different places.... we went on the 'Bus bar' - a bar that looks like a bus..... but we had to order food in order to get drinks (this happens quite a lot in Korea) - so we ordered a fresh fruit platter - and was confused when we got some garlic bread and tinned peaches...... luckily this was just our free starter....and the fruit platter was a lot better than just some tinned peaches!!

Then we went to another bar and had some Sangria.....after finishing out pitcher.....the guy asked if we wanted some more - 'serviceeee' - Now 'serviceee' is one of my favourite words in Korea - basically it means free. So who are we to say no to free Sangria? And our pitcher is suddenly refilled.

Then we heard about a new bar 'From B' that had opened and decided to try it out.
Super cool.
Ipads as menus.

The toilets had - nail varnish, nailvarnish remover, har straightners, hair dryers, perfume and lots of other bits and bobs that you might need.

Oh and did I mention that a bottle of Jager was 30,000 (£15)

Sunday morning
- yesterdays Samosa for breakfast.
- Breakfast at JJ's Bar and Grill - sausages, hash brown, bacon, eggs AND pancakes.
This picture does it no justice.....it was awesome.

-Trip to Starbucks to have our first Christmas drink in the red cup <3 <3

CHRISTMAS IS TOTALLY ON ITS WAY!!
